How many words per post do you usually create as a standard length of your post? Is it too long to display 10 posts that could make your blog stretched too much? If you are a long poster on blog and you have a minimum of 1000 words per posts, is it wise to minimize your post into summary to make your blog presentable to your readers.

Reader’s first impression

The first 30 seconds of a reader to scan your blog is very important in increasing your blog’s readership. So you should make every reader experience and enjoyable stay to your blog by presenting your blog in a reader friendly way.

Yugatech’s summarized post

Have you been to the blog of Mr. Abe Olandres? He is a very popular blogger based in the Philippines behind the “Yugatech” blog which reviews gadgets and news on the Philippine technology. If you visit his blog, you will see how organized his blog is. If you see his homepage, he displays 15 posts which include the latest blog posts summarized by the title of the post, writer’s name and days ago when it was published.

If you proceed to his blog directory, you will see that each post was summarized with a maximum of something words displayed. In his blog directory, he displays 16 posts. Every post was organized and there’s no picture displayed on it so it would be faster to load. When you visit one of his posts, then you can now see the whole post with the picture attached on it. During my stay in Abe’s blog, I feel so comfortable on viewing his posts about gadgets. I will rate it 5 stars for being a reader friendly blog.

Only 30 seconds is enough for a reader to decide if he will going to read blog posts that he need. Having an informative content with a presentable appearance will make your reader stay longer to your blog that will increase its page views, hits and traffic. It is sad if you have a great content but a horrible blog appearance that will make your readers hit the close button because he was confused which one to go.

The opportunity of having that reader became a regular guest will just disappear. One reader could give a very tiny impact to your traffic. But when all of them were satisfied with your blog’s user friendly characteristic, it could shake your web servers intensely.

Summarize post with a plug in

Evermore plug in can do the work on summarizing your the posts on blog. I use it here in bloghob and as you can see each post was summarized according to the number of words that I wanted to be displayed.
