During my college days, I’ve remember that in one chapter of our thesis about “Building a Restaurant” is all about conducting a SWOT analysis. I’ve never thought that this one will be a useful thing in development of a blog.

A SWOT analysis is a strategic method to evaluate the Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat of a project or a business venture. It helps examine a business current situation and plan for the future. By this time let’s use SWOT analysis to have a good plan in building our blogs.

The steps to make a SWOT analysis to a blog.

1. Identify your objective. Set a goal for your blog, maybe a plan for one whole month. What would be your targeted audience, Your targeted amount of visitors or anything that is necessary for the growth of your blog.

2. Identify your blog’s strength. Attributes of your blog that help  achieve your blog’s objective.

3. Identify your blog’s weakness. Attributes of your blog that will damage your blog’s objective.

4. Identify your opportunities on your blog. External conditions that will be helpful in achieving your blog’s objective.

5. Identify your threats on your blog. External conditions that could do damage to the performance of your blog.

6. Match your blog’s strength and opportunities. By matching your blog’s strength and opportunities, it will find competitive advantages in achieving your blog’s objectives.

7. Convert your blog’s weakness and threat into strength or opportunities. If your blog’s weakness and threat could not be converted into strength or opprtunities, reducing them is an alternative in converting.
