Recently, I’ve been searching on articles about how to improve traffic on a blog. I’ve found out that blog posting is one factor that could affect the entire traffic building goal.
In blog posting, writing pillar article is the best way of making an attractive post to thousands of readers. Pillar article are those articles which can be useful not only in the present but also in the future. Maybe creating articles that can be used until the next 10 years are called pillar articles.
Entrepreneurs-Journey cited these examples of pillar articles:
- How to Article - Basically, a problem solving article. This focuses on how to solve any problem then posting it as a blog post.
- The definition article – Usually these articles are supported by any proven source to strengthen its validity.
- Presenting a theory or argument - This will depend on the topic of a blog. If a blog is all about politics then creating some argument will be a great blog post.
- Creating a resource like a free report - Similar to how-to article, this focuses on how to solve a problem.
- List article - This are articles containing list of steps on how to solve a problem or a list of anything. Link-listing is another great traffic puller.
- Technical Blueprint – Usually, images are provided here on how to solve technical problems such as customizing a website, creating steps on fixing a bug etc.
Some said that these type of articles are the best traffic puller on a blog. Some say that it’s not. But I believe that creating these type of articles are a great way of having permanent traffic on a blog, but it takes a long time after the creation of an article. How do you find Timeless articles on your blog?

List Building – Another Apple In The Eye Of Readers
about 11 months ago - 4 comments
List building in a blog post is a great way to attract readers to your blog especially when the links are connected to helpful articles and sites needed by your readers.
Seth Godin is always a good example of this. He always link out for whatever he tries to explain to make sure the readers are digesting his content effectively. Obviously, list building is one of the effective posts that he writes on his blog.
List building is another key to increase traffic on a blog, most people are searching on the net just to solve the problem that they encountering right now. It will be more effective if their problem needs to read several articles that is listed in a single post.
Hunting loyal readers is an example of good list building. Its content discussed the hurdles that should be overcome by bloggers. The list was filled with helpful articles to help bloggers to increase readership on their blog.
One by one, I have written each article in a daily basis. One day, one article. Then after the 30 day writing and researching, I finally compiled the articles to make it more digestible to readers.
Another example of list building is “tip listing”. Ezinearticles is outstanding with this. Here’s an example of an ezinearticles’ article about using twitter “5 tips to make your tweets fit on twitter”
Tip listing is a great article that should be written on a blog. By making a list, it makes readers feel comfortable on what they are searching for. Time is always important, so they will better stick on your blog post if it could give a complete list on the detail they are searching for rather than spending their time searching the web for resources.

Increase And Decrease On Traffic, Is It Normal?
about 11 months ago - 4 comments
A friend of mine just started a blog about golf. He always submitted his articles on StumbleUpon, Digg and Blogcatalog. Then the day after, his blog traffic declined hits from 50 to 48. What’s wrong with it?
Basically, submitting your articles to sites like StumbleUpon and Digg could make you look spammer to other users. These sites are designed to let other user refer your articles, not to submit your own articles on it. This could penalize your blog for doing so.
Below are the lists of the factors that affect your blog traffic:
1. Publishing frequency – do you publish new article on your blog on daily basis? If yes, what have you notice if you fail to publish new article on your blog? Your blog traffic decreases, right?
Publishing frequency can affect the traffic of your blog. Most of your readers are visiting your page via email or RSS subscription. Mostly of come to your blog if the only open their email then saw the update sent to them from your blog. If they don’t receive new update from your blog, they will not come to it.
It only means that if you don’t have a new published post on your blog. Your feed sender either email or RSS will not send new update on your blog. So these potential visitors via subscription are loss on your traffic.
2. Traffic season – decrease on traffic on your blog could also because of the season of traffic. There are months that there are so many internet users searching on the internet that is related on your blog.
For example you blog about gifts; you have a standard amount of traffic during normal months. But during occasional months especially December and January, your traffic will boost up to 200% and more because there are so many internet users searching for gift to give. But after these months your traffic will decrease to normal rate again.
3. News – A good example of this will be a blog about entertainment. If you blog about the entertainment. You should be always updated on the entertainment news. If there’s a fresh controversial news about artists, movies etc., you should expect increase on traffic.
4. Inconsistent posting on niche – Posting articles on different niches affect the decline on traffic on your blog. One of the most common ways of having tribes of readers on your blog is to maintain writing on a single niche. If you blog about sports, then be consistent on posting articles about sports. If you decided to chance your niche then you should expect decline on your traffic.

If you brutally say no for easy traffic building, then you are in. If you want to make your blog more interesting, then you should work hard for it. Sounds very usual? But that’s all you need to do. Hard work on building relationships with your readers is a must.
Why you don’t need to spam anyone?
It’s because your readers are human. They are not an automated machine that when you invite them to visit the link URL that you add on your message, they will automatically precede on the link that you left.
Monitor where does your traffic coming from
Today, enthusiasm is the best skill that you must have in order to maintain a good relationship with you readers. Impressing each of them will start on the first day you met them. Maybe you meet them in social media sites that you use or personally in your place.
You readers are like butterflies.
The more you chase them, the more they elude you. But if you put your attention to other things, they will come and sit softly on your shoulders. The same are true on attracting a reader to your blog. The more you struggle to make it attractive, the more tendencies for you to fail.

Is Commenting a Good Source Of Traffic?
about 12 months ago - 16 comments
Commenting could be a good source of traffic, if it was only used properly. Many, as in so many people use it in a wrong way. And that kind of strategy of posting comments on blogs just to build traffic on their blog is a huge waste of their precious time.
Those people who leave on liner comments on blog, such as “good post!” were just trying to attract clicks on the link that they left. These procedures could leave curiosity on the author of the blog and also to the readers of the blog. But that strategy doesn’t work anymore.
Do leaving one liner comments, a waste of time?
Yes, it is a waste of time.
Maybe 1 out of 1000 people will click on the link of the one liner comment. But it never give good result on building traffic on your blog. The strategy on using comment is to make your comment valuable. It will be an attention catching strategy.
And that kind of strategy is not a sure way of gathering traffic to your blog.
Commenting is just a second strategy; building relationship with your readers is the sure fire on traffic building.
That’s the brutally truth. Starting from scratch on participating on social media is the best way on getting started. These days, there are some additions of sure fire list of getting traffic to your blog. Getting links and bookmarking were not new but always be a sure fire on traffic.
Fresh ideas are getting retweets on twitter users and receiving social media votes on social media users.
Smart commenting is a strategic way on building traffic, but that will always depend on the comment that you will leave on a blog with huge amount of traffic. Using these fresh new ways of building traffic gives more good results.
Approach a Potential Reader Like Approaching a Girl For a Date
about 12 months ago - 5 comments
Seeking a potential reader to your blog could be hard depending on what are your targeted audiences. And there are so many concepts out there on how to make a reader read your blog like this one.
Surf the net and seek them out – The fastest and easiest way to seek readers to your blog is to visit back readers who read your blog. But if your blog is just starting that need readers on it, and then use community sites.
Who else doesn’t want more readers to his blog? I’m sure you are one of thousand people out there asking, “How to seek blog readers to my blog?”
You then, open your internet browser then browse google to get answers. But you just get the same answers to the question.
Why you always find the same answers on that questions? It’s because there is no other way to get visitors to your blog other that adding them approaching them one by one.
Send message with smile
I’ve noticed that every blogger on blogging community sites do the same mistakes on approaching another user. Instead of showing their interest to another user, they immediately ask them to visit their site.
Your targeted potential reader to your blog is human, not a computer that automatically clicks on the link that you add once you send them by message. So it is right to treat every member with human approach.
How can you add your message a smile? Literally, you can add smiley like
on your message to a potential reader. You can also use words like “Have a good day, my friend!” on your message to add smile on your message.
Approach them with confidence
Use your words more confidently. Be proud of what you can offer on your blog to your reader. In off-blogging life, you can approach a girl confidently by having a direct eye contact to her and throwing smiles on her. In blogging, the same will be applicable, but this time using words on them.
Wait for their signal that they are interested
It’s a good manner to wait for their signal before offering them interesting posts on your blog. Don’t pressure them, let them visit you back or message you back on their most convenient time.
When will you know that they are interested to your blog? Your recent visitor page or stats are the most effective way on knowing if a potential reader on your blog is interested on reading it.
Your comment box, your inbox and your email are another way to know if they are interested to your blog.
If they are not interested, thank them anyway
You cannot say that a potential reader on your blog is not interested to your blog by not visiting or replying to your message. You will know when they are not interested if they message you saying directly that they are not interested on reading your blog.
Messaging other than thanking them is a bad manner that should be avoided.
Tips:
* Make your blog presentable
* Be yourself
* Be honest
* Have a good manners

This makes sense as the articles will always be available in search engines. I’ve also read that you can resurrect them by referring to them in your newer posts every now and then. So I try to do that. But these are good tips for the types of posts/articles to focus on
Thanks!
