get by email Make your Subscription more Visible Day 20 HLRReaders are lazy. Let’s accept the truth that readers are too lazy to do a subscriptions on a blog which have so many procedures.

These are the blog subscription process problems:

Subscription link location. There are tons of blog that having a subscription link at the bottom of their page. Having a subscription link on the bottom of their page will reduce the amount of the potential subscribers they should have.

The word “subscribe”. Tons of readers are not really web savvy. As the dictionary said that the word subscribe means “to pledge, as by signing an agreement, to give or pay as a contribution; readers will be misunderstood the meaning of the word “subscribe to my blog”.

Solution:

For the subscription location issue:

  • The best solution is to create a big subscription image link on the top of your blog. Top sidebar is the ideal place for the link.
  • Put subscription link in every page of your post. Here in Bloghob, I’ve been using the Increase sociability plugin for that.

For the word “subscribe” issue:

  • Explain to your subscribers that subscribing to your blog is free.
  • Explain the meaning of “rss feed” if you have included this on your subscription options.
  • Try using other word than subscribe, to make it clearer to your readers that subscribing to your blog is free.
  • Make a dedicated page for your subscription options.

See the results yourself after editing moving your subscription link to the most visible location as possible.
