Use Twitter to Drive Readers to your Blog – Day 18 HLR
Today, twitter is the most amazing tool that you can use for messaging. But it doesn’t end up here, twitter can also be used to drive traffic to your blog if it is used properly.
What is Twitter?
It was started as a side project in March 2006. It is a privately funded start up with offices in the SoMA neighborhood of San Francisco California. This twitter idea came from Jack Dorsey, just to know what his friends are doing.
Why use twitter?
Twitter is the most simplified way of messaging your friends. With one question “What are you doing?”, you can write up to 140 characters to send via mobile texting, instant messaging or directly through web.
Steps to drive readers to your blog using twitter:
1. Open a Twitter account. Besides of opening an account for free, the application will also be so easy. And it only takes a minute to sign up for a twitter account.
2. Add your Blog link – In settings, you can customize your profile on how it can be seen by other twitter users. Make sure that you add your blog link to make it more visible to other users.
3. Setup a Twollo account. You can automate following other twitter users by using Twollo in the keywords and interest that your set. The good thing about Twollo is you can automate following users until you reach the limit of 2,000 follow limit even if your computer is turned off.
4. Create a Twitterfeed. Twitterfeed allow you to update your twitter feeds when you publish new post to your blog. By this process you will save a lot of time tweeting your posts. Your most recent post will be updated to your twitter account in the updating time that you set. The minimum updating time will be every after 30 minutes.
Creating a twitterfeed is simple, here are the steps to make a twitterfeed:
- Make sure you already have a twitter account
- Sign in to twitterfeed using the open_id you prefer. You can use your google account, flickr, technorati and many more options.
- Add your blog RSS feed, verify the feed if you require then set-up the updating hours you want your twitter to be updated.
- Create your feed.
5. Be a pro active twitter user. Don’t use twitter just to catch readers, in order to have a good bonding with other twitter users and your blog readers, you must participate in the discussions ongoing to your twitter updates. Respond to your follower’s direct messages to you.
