Sponsoring a blog is another way of increasing your blog traffic. This will be one of the fastest ways on increasing your Google page rank. I have tested and proven it myself.

All Ranking Starts From Zero

Any starting blog starts in the ranking zero. In starting my Bloghob blog, my first goal was to increase my readers. Then, when I have enough readers, the next goal was to have enough Google page rank which is an average ranking of 3.

I realized that linking in sites with high page rank will also increase my ranking. So instead of asking of link exchange with someone. I surf blogs to find a good one to add my blog linked on it just to assure the duration and acceptance of my link.

Then I found one which have a Google page rank of 5. I was impressed with the blog’s ranking both on alexa and GPR so I bought the ad spot for $20 for one month. As a requirement of the publisher, I sent him my URL and the 125 x 125 image to be used as a link in his blog’s sidebar.

My deal with the publisher was so easy then he asked me how to should my payment be sent? Before inserting the link on his blog? or after? For assurance, I’ve chose after. Then when I saw my ad on his blog, I’ve payed him with his required method of payment. By paypal.

After inserting the link to his blog, I let it run for two days before checking my rankings. I was amazed when I check both my Alexa and Google page ranking. It dramatically increases in just a short period of time. My Google page rank increased from 0 to 3. I didn’t expect that buying that ad spot really worth every cent that I’ve paid for.

Things to consider before buying an ad spot

Alexa Ranking. Alexa ranking is one way of checking a sites traffic and links that linking directly to the site. With lower number of alexa ranking means higher traffic the site is carrying. So before buying a blog ad spot, you should check its Alexa ranking first.

Google page rank. Our goal here in WOOGPR is to build our Google page rank. So blogs with high page rank such as 5 or 6 will be a nice one to link in your blog.

Traffic location. Traffic location is another good basis on buying an ad spot. For example, your blog is all about the beautiful places in the United States. The traffic location that you should consider first is in the United States.

Ad pricing. Check thoroughly if the publisher’s deal on his ad spot worth his pricing by checking his Alexa ranking, Traffic Location and Google page rank are competitive enough on his pricing.

Publisher’s content. Your blog and the blog where you will place your ad should be relevant to each other in order to gain more traffic to your blog.

Deal. Your deal is the most important thing to consider. After you have decided to buy an ad. Contact the publisher. Submit his requirements then ask a deal on him that you will pay the said about on that ad spot AFTER he have placed your ad to his blog.

Very interesting and informative post. I have done that in the past and yes it boost my pagerank. I only did it for one month and didn’t continue because I can’t find a cheaper one related to my niche. I’ll give it a try again this coming months.
